If you’ve been reading Confetti Social (or even my lifestyle blog, Breakfast at Lilly’s) for some time then you know that I’m always preaching about the benefits of Pinterest. It’s brought both of my blogs’ success so there’s certainly a reason why I’m always singing its praises. Check out other posts from the PinPerfect series. Let’s hop into why your business needs to be on Pinterest.

Why Your Business Needs to Be on Pinterest

Reason #1: Pinterest can bring in traffic to your website

I’m sure you’ve heard a lot of people talk about how Pinterest is one of their highest referrals, and I’m here to tell you that it’s the exact same for me. Pinterest has the potential to bring you in lots of traffic if you’re using it strategically enough.

Reason #2: Pinterest is a money generator

Since Pinterest started allowing affiliate links again, you can easily use Pinterest to make a little money here and there. You can also use Pinterest to promote your products, courses, and other offerings which is huge. I know lots of people who get email sign ups and clients from Pinterest on a daily basis.

Reason #3: Pinterest allows you to reach a wide audience

With over 150 million active users, Pinterest has the potential to target a wide range of people. It allows you to reach people that you may not have had the opportunity to reach before.

Reason #4: Your pins have a long shelf-life

Unlike Twitter and Instagram, your pins have the potential to continuously bring in traffic months or even years after you’ve written the initial post. For example, on my lifestyle blog Breakfast at Lilly’s, the pins that bring in the most traffic are pins that I wrote in the beginning of 2016. Sometimes it takes awhile for a pin to really take off on Pinterest, but once it does you will be reaping the benefits for quite some time.

Reason #5: Pinterest is a search engine

Much like Google, Pinterest is a search engine but with pictures. Of course, you want to show up when people are searching different keywords on Google – so why not do the same on Pinterest? Using keywords on Pinterest is important to ranking on their search feature.

Reason #6: Your target audience is probably there

Contrary to popular belief, your target audience is most likely on Pinterest, especially if your target audience consists primarily of women. There are so many active niches on Pinterest including lifestyle, fashion, business, beauty, food, DIY, and so much more. There is space for pretty much everyone on Pinterest, believe it or not.
