Batching has been a game changer for me ever since I went full time with Confetti Social. Right now I’m at least one week ahead on all my blog posts and newsletters because of batching. I am working towards being at least 2 weeks to a month ahead of the game but that will come with time. What is batching?
Batching is doing a lot of the same task on one day. Personally, I have a day each week dedicated to some form of batching. One week I’ll dedicate a day to all blogging related activities and another I will spend on all admin tasks. This helps streamline my schedule because I’m only focusing on that one thing instead of jumping between writing posts, doing client work, and marketing my business which can get a little confusing since I’m jumping from task to task sporadically.

Setting up a Batching Schedule
Depending on your needs you can structure your batch schedule however you like. Some people find it beneficial to batch their tasks by month and others do two per week and focus the rest of the days on regular business activities.
For me, one per week works well. I usually batch on Wednesday’s since it’s in the middle of the week and gives me a break from client work and other regular tasks. I may switch to batching 2 times a month in the future but this works great for the time being.

Bi-weekly Batch Blogging/Email Marketing Tasks
- Writing content
- Editing posts
- Creating graphics
- Scheduling content
- Writing email newsletters
- Scheduling email newsletters
- Creating opt-in for blog posts
- Adding necessary links
- Pitching for guest posts
- Scheduling said posts to go out on social media
Bi-weekly Batch Admin Tasks
- Cleaning out your inbox
- Responding to emails
- Reviewing income/expenses
- Tracking analytics
- Clean up your desktop
- Follow up with old clients
- Adjust editorial calendar as needed
On your non-batch days, you will just proceed with your schedule as normal going about client work, seeking out new clients, and things of that nature. Batching just helps take the load off so you’re able to write freely and do all of your boring but necessary admin work without any additional distractions.
