Spring is quickly approaching and I don’t know about you but during the spring I like to do a little spring cleaning on absolutely everything in my life including my blog. Today I’m going to be sharing some tips and tricks on how to refresh your blog for spring.
How to Refresh Your Blog for Spring
Clean up your sidebar
Over time things on your sidebar can become irrelevant so make sure to evaluate it and change things up a little if necessary. Little changes like that can make a big difference on your blog. I’d recommend doing this a few times a year to make sure that it is always up to date.
Update your graphics
If you’ve changed your branding over the past few months or year, then make sure you’re changing up all of your blog’s graphics to reflect the changes. You want everything to look as cohesive as possible. This also means pinning the new graphics to Pinterest as well.
Get rid of unnecessary plugins
Plugins tend to slow down your site speed so if you have tons of plugins that you aren’t using, do yourself a favor and delete them. This will increase your site speed and your readers will thank you. Since Google uses site speed as a factor for SEO this is an absolute must.
Remove any dead links
If you haven’t checked in awhile, you’re probably going to have quite a bit of dead links. Use your link checker function if you’re on WordPress to quickly nix any dead links on your website because no one likes clicking over to something and the link not working properly.
