A welcome email sequence is essential for any business owner who is ready to get serious about their email marketing game. Your very first email should make a good impression because historically welcome emails are one of the most opened emails out of all the emails you’ll send. In today’s post, I’ll be sharing 5 reasons why you need a welcome email sequence.
5 Reasons Why You Need a Welcome Email Sequence
Reason #1: To Introduce Yourself
The first thing you want your welcome email to accomplish is introducing yourself to your newest subscribers. No one wants to be receiving emails from someone and have no clue who they are so it’s important to introduce yourself in your welcome email so that your subscribers start recognizing you in their inbox further down the line.
Reason #2: To Nurture Your List
With a welcome email sequence, you can nurture your list and start priming them for future offers. In the sequence, you can share freebies and other incentives to get your subscribers even more excited about being on your list.
Reason #3: To Further Segment Your List
A welcome email sequence also allows you to further segment your list. In my first email, I ask for my new subscribers to select if they’re a blogger, a business owner, or both so that I can easily cater my content towards the two different audiences.
Reason #4: To Get Them Used to Hearing From You
Another reason for a welcome email sequence is to get them used to hearing from you. When they see you in their inbox every week after they’ve gone through your welcome sequence then they will be more likely to open your emails if they enjoyed your first set of emails.
Reason #5: To Generate Value
Delivering value is extremely important so this should be one of your main goals during your welcome email sequence. My sequence is 5 emails so emails 2 and 4 are purely value packed emails so that my audience will know that value is what they can expect from me from there on out.
